Creative Central NCL is sponsoring The Late Shows in 2024, we will support four artists commissions in four venues within the Creative Central NCL footprint.
There are lots of venues in the Creative Central NCL area who could take part in The Late Shows.
We want to support an excellent turn out and literally put Creative Central NCL (and the participating venues) on the map. The Late Shows map will outline the footprint of Creative Central NCL, with the participating venues that lie within it clearly marked.
We’ll have our own Late Shows badges in Creative Central NCL colours and there will be more signage and press activity, encouraging footfall to and between the venues in our area and celebrating our distinctive offer.
We’re looking for venues to host our new creative commissions.
We’d like to encourage as many eligible venues as possible to take part in The Late Shows.

We’ll select four of them to host brand-new, funded, creative commissions. When the four host venues have been identified, we’ll work with them to write the brief for their commission.
APPLY TO BE A CREATIVE CENTRAL NCL HOST VENUE BY 8 JANUARY 2024
We‘ll publish an open call inviting artists and creatives to submit proposals for each commission and will work with each venue and The Late Shows Team to identify the best proposals. The aim is to attract attention and enhance the offer during The Late Shows.
We will use the communications tools of the The Late Shows partnership to promote the creative venues and organisations based in Creative Central NCL and reiterate the area’s ambition to be a place for independent artists, creative professionals and cultural organisations to thrive in central Newcastle.

- If you would also like to apply to be a host venue for a Creative Central NCL creative commission, please also complete this form by Monday 8 January 2024.
- We will identify the four strongest bids and inform everyone of the outcome.
- The process will be competitive. If you are not selected this time, there will be further opportunities in future, which we will keep you informed about – and, of course, you can still be a venue for The Late Shows, the more venues that take part within Creative Central NCL the busier all venues are likely to be.
