North East Cultural Freelancers a community for people working in the cultural sector in the North East, or connected to the North East.

North East Cultural Freelancers want the North East to be the best place to be a cultural worker. They work in collaboration with people and organisations across the region to raise standards and expectations for cultural freelancers.

The North East Cultural Freelancers Facebook group has almost 4,000 members.

Freelancer Best Practice Checklist

North East Cultural Freelancers have collaborated with the North East Culture Partnership to create the Freelancer Best Practice Checklist. This is a free online (and anonymous) tool for both organisations and freelancers, to: audit your current practices, give you suggestions for improvements, help sector relationships grow, improve working conditions overall for cultural freelancers and cultural workers.
