Three Creative Central NCL projects are popping up across Newcastle this month with workshops, interactive sessions and handmade gifts to buy just in time for Christmas. 

Commercialise Without Compromise Creative Pop-Up at Grainger Market

Friday 24 and Saturday 25 November, 10am – 4pm

Newcastle University Business School and Creative Heritage Studios are excited to welcome local creative businesses to the Grainger Market to showcase their work at this one-time pop-up market.

It’s the final stage of Commercialise without Compromise, a Creative Central NCL funded project, which is a 2-month development programme for artists and designer-makers.

The Sustainable Creatives Newcastle Market at Alphabetti Theatre

Saturday 25 November, 12pm – 5pm

Pick up creative Christmas gifts all made by local artists and creatives.

15 stalls all with fantastic local hand made art works from Newcastle residents.

This is part of a Creative Central NCL funded project by Project North East, The Sustainable Creative, which is a 9-month project to help creative and cultural entrepreneurs start a creative business in Newcastle.

Tyneside Foyer Artist in Residency pop-up at Grainger Market

Saturday 25 November, 11am – 4pm

Textile and print artists Shiori Naruse and Nick Christie, are artists in residence at Tyneside Foyer, working with the young residents at the Foyer on a range of creative activities.

Now, Shiori, Nick and the young residents host a pop-up at the Grainger Market showing a mixture of prints and textiles they’ve created and offering a selection of mini-workshops and activities to get involved with.

This is an engagement project commissioned by Creative Central NCL in partnership with the Tyneside Foyer.
