What is it?
In partnership with Newcastle City Council, Curated Place is offering 12 free places on their Creative Producer Training Programme.
This professional development programme is designed to equip creative producers with the tools, knowledge, and networks needed to deliver ambitious projects rooted in place. Delivered through 10 modules, the training covers everything from project management and budgeting to creative leadership and environmental responsibility.
The programme will culminate with the opportunity to pitch for funding and deliver a project as part of NOVUM Festival 2026, Newcastle’s flagship summer event celebrating the city’s creativity.
Graduates of the programme will join an international producer network spanning 18 countries, connecting Newcastle’s creative community with national and international peers.
Who is it for?
The programme is designed for:
- Creative and community-based producers living or working in Newcastle and the wider North East (within the North East Combined Authority footprint).
- Individuals who want to build sustainable careers in the arts, culture, and events sectors.
- Those seeking to strengthen their practical skills and gain access to national and international producer networks.
Applications are encouraged from candidates of all backgrounds, with funding available to support access needs where required.
What are the key criteria?
- Applicants must be based in Newcastle or the North East (within NECA footprint).
- Commitment to attending all 10 training sessions and participating in NOVUM Festival 2026.
- Interest in developing as a creative producer and contributing to Newcastle’s growing cultural scene.
- Willingness to engage in co-creation, cultural leadership, and collaboration across large-scale public events.
