Newcastle City Council is looking for expressions of interest from qualified organisations that would like to operate the new Grainger Market Creative Workspaces.
This project is part of Creative Central NCL, aiming to foster a vibrant creative workspace for artists while contributing to the Grainger Market transformation project.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for proposals from qualified organisations to operate and manage creative workspaces for Creative Central NCL within Grainger Market.
The successful organisation will be responsible for:
- Operation and Management: Manage the creative workspaces and oversee day-to-day operations.
- Community Building: Foster a creative community, promoting collaboration and inclusivity.
- Cultural Programming: Curate, organise and market events, exhibitions, and community engagement activities.
- Sustainability: Develop and implement a sustainable business model.
- Engagement with Grainger Market: Propose ways to align activities with the wider Grainger Market project.

We are looking for proposals to arrive with us by 17 October 2024.

Your proposal must include:
- Who you are: a brief overview of your organisation, including relevant experience, and your team.
- Relevant experience: demonstrate previous experience in managing creative or cultural workspaces.
- Your initial ideas: outline your initial ideas for managing the building, including your approach to community building, public events programming, and sustainability.
- Financial Plan: propose a financial model that sets out a minimum annual rental for the property while ensuring it is affordable for creative tenants.
- Lease Terms: outline your preferred lease term, starting in Autumn 2025.
- Community integration: outline how you will engage with the local creative community and Grainger Market tenants.
