We’re looking for applications from creatives and artists who want to collaborate with Dance City on a creative commission for The Late Shows 2024.
Dance City is the North East’s leading development organisation for dance. It exists to lead and support the development of a thriving dance ecology in the region. An eclectic programme of performances and classes takes place in the Dance City building year-round.
For The Late Shows 2024, Dance City will be throwing open their doors for a building takeover full of performance, taster sessions and insight into how their artists develop and create their work.
It’s an interesting venue with a range of social spaces and viewing locations interconnected across different levels, by stairs, lifts and corridors. We are seeking artists who wish to create work for or in response to these spaces.
We are interested in commission ideas from artists working across all artistic disciplines that are ambitious, engaging and inspiring and that resonate particularly with the themes of merging art forms, crossing boundaries, embracing different traditions and global communities.
There is a commission budget of up to £3,000 available.
