We’re looking for applications from creatives and artists who want to collaborate with Grainger Market on a creative commission for The Late Shows 2024.
The Grainger Market
Built in 1835 by the partnership of Richard Grainger and John Dobson, the Grainger Market is still home to over 100 small businesses selling everything from groceries, meat and fish to haberdashery, vintage clothing, plants, comics and a wide range of local and international cuisines. The Market is architecturally striking with wide busy alleyways, high ceilings and open spaces, it’s a true hub of activity, well used by the many different communities it serves.
For The Late Shows 2024, the Grainger Market will be inviting audiences after dark to explore the historical arcade and alleyways.
We are interested in commission ideas that take inspiration from the Grainger Market which is rich in history, stories and quirky architectural features that might inspire you.
Read The Guidelines for more details on the history of the Market.
